Terms of use, and what data we handle.

The short version

Cushion doesn't collect any personal information about you — no name, email, or account signup required to use it. The only pieces of data involved are your device's name, and an anonymous library of favorites used to sync your remote across your own devices and, if you choose, share it with someone else.

What we collect

• No personal information — no name, email address, or phone number is ever requested.
• Your device's name, so it can be recognized in your own list of paired devices.
• An anonymous account, created automatically on first launch, with no personal details attached to it.

Favorites, sync, and sharing

Your favorites library is tied to that anonymous account and stored in a database so it can sync across your own devices and be shared with someone else through a 5-digit code. Anyone you share a code with gets a read-only copy of that library — not access to your account.

Because the account is anonymous by default, it isn't automatically backed up, and losing the app or your device can mean losing the library tied to it. If you'd rather not risk that, Cushion lets you convert the anonymous account into one signed in with your Apple ID, so it persists independently of any one device.

Any library data created for sharing can be deleted at any time, and is not retained anywhere beyond the database used to sync and share it.

Using Cushion

Cushion is provided as-is, for use pairing with Google TV devices on the same network as your iPhone or iPad. These terms may be updated as the app changes; continued use after an update means you accept the current version.
